The Situation

A 77-unit co-op in the Five Towns on Long Island needed its security infrastructure brought up to date across the entire property — building entrances, common-area doors, vehicle entrances, and the intercom connecting every unit to the front door.

Rather than patch individual systems, the building opted for a full retrofit on a single platform: one system for intercom, door access, and cameras, managed from one dashboard, with no recurring software licensing fees.

Our Approach

We designed the whole scope on UniFi — the same platform our co-founder runs across the 350 units he owns and operates. That meant the building got a system we already live with day to day as owners, not just as installers.

Our lead installer ran the job personally, as he does on every EZ project, working through an occupied building without shutting down access at any entrance.

The Installation

The full scope: a whole-building UniFi intercom with interior viewer panels in the units, 15+ common-area and entrance doors converted to fob access, and 90+ UniFi Protect cameras covering the property inside and out.

License-plate-recognition (LPR) cameras at the vehicle entrances automatically read and log every plate that enters — searchable from the same Protect dashboard as the rest of the camera system.
